Robotic Tank Cleaning

Robotic Tank Inspection

TechCorr's Track Driven Robotic Unit is a remotely-operated, hydraulically driven, track-propelled vehicle designed for removing sludge from a variety of containments. It's capable of handling most types of sludge, over a wide range of viscosity density, and other physical characteristics. The Track Driven Robotic Unit is equipped with diluent injection and wash down capability. Operator visibility is provided by an on-board video system, or a secondary system which may be located anywhere that is convenient for the operator.

The characteristic that distinguishes the Track Driven Robotic Unit from other robotic vehicles is its formidable power. The vehicle has a maximum tractive force of 5,700 pounds. This enables the vehicle to move in the sludge that would stop other machines, as well as drag 300 feet of umbilical and 4 inch discharge hose. The vehicle can carry a payload, including toolhead, pump and instruments, of more than 3,000 pounds.

DILUENT CANNON

The diluent cannon serves a dual purpose. The hydraulic pan and tilt is used to position the cannon to wash down the tank interior, and also serves as the camera pan and tilt when the vehicle is fitted with an on-board camera. The cannon can discharge a stream of up to 1,000 gpm at 200 psi. The stream reach is in excess of 150'. The cannon can tilt from straight up to 45º down, and pan through 350º. Controls for the cannon are located on the control console.

VEHICLE CAMERA

The vehicle camera is a low light level, black and white unit with a sensitivity of 0.3 lux. It is equipped with manual iris, focus, and zoom controls to enable the operator to optimize visibility. Resolution is 425 lines, and the zoom range is 6 to 36mm. The lights were designed specifically to meet explosion-proof requirements.

The console is also equipped with a video monitor and controls for the cameras and lights, and a VCR to record significant events and to provide a record of the cleaning process and results.

MATERIAL PUMP

The pump capacity is 240 gpm, with a maximum discharge pressure of 140 psi into a 4 in discharge hose.
