Man-Way Cannons
The robotic manway cannon is ideal for light end and high vapor tanks that can not be open during cleaning operations due to environmental or safety issues. This piece of equipment is cost effective and prevents the risk of hazardous vapors releasing to the atmosphere.
- The robotic manway cannon is easily installed onto the tank shell manway and performs the majority of the cleaning from a onsite control room before confined space entry is needed.
- The robotic manway cannon is hydraulically controlled and is equipped with a camera and lighting system that feeds back to the control room so that the operator has visual capabilities for effective cleaning.
- This technology will also work with smaller diameter oil tanks to minimize manned entry time. It is also good for use if the tanks sludge level is above the shell manway. If the tank has a fixed cone roof or an EFR, the cannon can be installed into the roof manway to blend the sludge. A hydraulic submersible pump will remove the blended material from the tank to a designated storage tank.
- The Robotic manway cannon is also used to performvapor degassing in conjunction with the cleaning. Once installed, the manway cannon seals the tank back off as if the manway were still in place so that vapors are not emmiting from the tank while the cleaning is being performed. With the use of chemical treatment mixed with the diluents, we can perform vapor encapsulation and degassing of the tanks internals.
