Robotic Tank Cleaning

TechCorr's Track Driven Robotic Unit is a remotely-operated, hydraulically driven, track-propelled vehicle designed for removing sludge from a variety of containments. It's capable of handling most types of sludge, over a wide range of viscosity density, and other physical characteristics. The Track Driven Robotic Unit is equipped with diluent injection and wash down capability. Operator visibility is provided by an on-board video system, or a secondary system which may be located anywhere that is convenient for the operator.

The characteristic that distinguishes the Track Driven Robotic Unit from other robotic vehicles is its formidable power. The vehicle has a maximum tractive force of 5,700 pounds. This enables the vehicle to move in the sludge that would stop other machines, as well as drag 300 feet of umbilical and 4 inch discharge hose. The vehicle can carry a payload, including toolhead, pump and instruments, of more than 3,000 pounds.

For light end tanks we incorporate the technology called the Robotic Manway Cannon. It's easily installed to the tank shell manway to perform the majority of the cleaning from an onsite control room before any confined space entry is needed. The Robotic Manway Cannon is hydraulically controlled and is equipped with a camera and lighting system that is able to send back information to the control room. With the use of chemical treatment we can perform vapor control and degassing of the tanks internals.

TechCorr also offers volume circulation for asphalt and heavy oil sludge. We will circulate the heavy or hardened tank bottoms and turn it back into a clean and marketable oil which can be sold or routed back into the plant system. We also can set up a processing system on the site which allows us to process the oil to meet your standards. When dealing with these types of tanks, plants are usually charged with a high cost for disposal. With the volume circulation technology, the need for disposal is either eliminated or drastically reduced.

Tank Detailing TechCorr has the robotic technology to reduce the amount of time that manpower is needed in the tank.  This is a key advantage when talking safety on large tank projects which typically have men in a confined space for a month or more removing thousands of barrels of sludge.  TechCorr can utilize robotics inside of the tank instead of manpower to perform 85% to 90% of the sludge removal.  TechCorr's Scavenger XT® 2000 is the alternative to manpower for cleaning heavy oil tanks with large amounts of sludge for removal.
